Even when integrations problems arise, they are diagnosed early and fixed on a daily basis. Some of the significant techniques used are branch by abstraction and form-in progress code updates.</p>

    <p>The idea behind Trunk-Based Development is to make sure that the development is always in the main branch or integrated back to the main branch in frequent intervals. The main objective is to avoid larger changes which might result in errors. For the purpose of release, a dedicated release branch is allowed where no development takes place.</p>

    <p>Each of the changes is handled by an automated build and test suites to ensure the highest quality is maintained throughout the project. As each and every minor change has to go through build and testing, it is important to automate and streamline the entire process. Try to focus more on unit tests and integration testing for quality as they are faster to implement rather than acceptance testing.</p>

    <p>A banner on travis-ci.org, which describes itself as ?the home of open source testing,? states that ?testing your open source projects will always be free.? The idea at one time was that open source and commercial or private projects would be kept separate via .org and .com web sites, but recently the company informed users that travis-ci.org ?will be officially closed down completely on December 31st, 2020? ? now just two months away.</p>
    <p>At the time, the Travis CI team said, ?open-source projects will be free as they always have,? but that migrating repositories from travis-ci.org to travis-ci.com is required.</p>
    <p>Now the mood music is changing, with a post introducing a new pricing model. There are several changes. One is that macOS builds will be charged extra.</p>

    <p>There is still provision for additional free credits for open source developers, but this will be on a case by case basis. ?Should you want to apply for these credits please open a request with Travis CI support stating that you?d like to be considered for the OSS allotment,? said the post.</p>
    <p>The problem, the company said, is that while it wants to support the open source community, ?recently we have encountered significant abuse of the intention of this offering. Abusers have been tying up our build queues and causing performance reductions for everyone.?</p>
    <p>It is not clear what kind of ?abuse? this refers to, other than that free users were using more resources than the company wanted to give away. The use of open source has broadened since 2011, when Travis CI was founded.</p>
    <p>The largest and most profitable corporations in the world now maintain open source projects, which perhaps suggests that the mere fact of a repository being public does not always imply that its owners need or deserve free CI tools. Other users are less than impressed.</p>
    <blockquote><p>How can one fuck up a great product like @travisci (that also had perfect timing could) so much. It became stale, engineers seemed detached and not a lot of good support for paying customers. Now that they are also killing open source builds I have a hard time seeing a future.</blockquote></p>

GitLab offers 400 CI/CD minutes free for any team, and also offers unlimited free access for ?qualifying open source projects.?</p>

    <h1>Migrating from TFS 2013 to Azure DevOps Server 2019: Pre-prod v/s Prod migration</h1>
    <p>I need to migrate a TFS 2013 instance to Azure DevOps Server 2019. I want to setup a new instance of Azure DevOps server with all the data migrated over from TFS 2013 and both the instances up and running at the same time. The plan is to decommission the TFS 2013 instance after a few weeks.</p>
    <p>For testing purposes, I followed the steps below: 1. Setup a server in a completly isolated network. 2. Backed up the TFS 2013 databases using the scheduled backups from TFS admin console. 3. Restored the databases to a new instance of SQL Server 2017. 4. Started installation of Azure DevOps Server 2019 on the new server, I pointed it to the restored databases and it detected the schema and gave me two options: Production Upgrade and Pre-production upgrade testing. I chose the latter option.</p>
    <p>The installation wizard took care of remapping the db connection strings(tfsconfig remapdbs), changing server and collection ids(tfsconfig changeserverid) and removed the scheduled backup jobs to avoid conflicts with the existing TFS 2013 instance.</p>
    <p>The test migration completed successfully. Now, I want to setup the production instance on new servers that are within the same network as the existing TFS 2013 instance. Shall I select "pre-production upgrade testing" again as I need to have both TFS 2013 and 2019 running at the same time? Or Shall I select "Production Upgrade" this time? Is there anything I need to take care of during the upgrade so that the two instance don't conflict with each other?</p>
    <p>PS: there are no backup jobs running on the TFS 2013 instance.</p>

    <p>DevOps is about experiences, ideas and culture to create high-performing IT organizations.</p>
    <p>Many definitions of DevOps exist, and many of them adequately explain one or more aspects that are important to find flow in the delivery of IT services. Instead of trying to state a comprehensive definition on our own, we prefer highlighting six DevOps principles we deem essential when adopting or migrating to a DevOps way of working.</p>
    <h2>Principle 1</h2>
    <h3>Customer-Centric Action</h3>
    <p>It is imperative nowadays to have short feedback loops with real customers and end-users, and that all activity in building IT products and services centers around these clients. To be able to meet these customers? requirements, DevOps organizations require the guts to act as lean startups that innovate continuously, pivot when an individual strategy is not (or no longer) working, and constantly invests in products and services that will receive a maximum level of customer delight.</p>
    <h2>Principle 2</h2>
    <h3>Create with the End in Mind</h3>
    <p>Organizations need to let go of waterfall and process-oriented models where each unit or individual works only for a particular role/function, without overseeing the complete picture. They need to act as <em>product companies</em> that explicitly focus on building working products sold to real customers, and all employees need to share the engineering mindset that is required actually to envision and realize those products.</p>
    <h2>Principle 3</h2>
    <h3>End-To-End Responsibility</h3>
    <p>Where traditional organizations develop IT solutions and then hand them over to Operations to deploy and maintain these solutions, in a DevOps environment teams are vertically organized such that they are fully accountable from <em>concept to grave</em>. IT products or services created and delivered by these teams remain under the responsibility of these stable groups. These teams also provide performance support, until they become end-of-life, which greatly enhances the level of responsibility felt and the quality of the products engineered.</p>
    <h2>Principle 4</h2>
    <h3>Cross-Functional Autonomous Teams</h3>
    <p>In product organizations with vertical, fully responsible teams, these teams need to be entirely independent throughout the whole lifecycle. That requires a balanced set of skills and also highlights the need for team members with <em>T-shaped</em> all-round profiles instead of old-school IT specialists who are only knowledgeable or skilled in for example testing, requirements analysis or coding. These teams become a hotbed of personal development and growth.</p>
    <h2>Principle 5</h2>
    <h3>Continuous Improvement</h3>
    <p>End-to-end responsibility also means that organizations need to adapt continuously in the light of changing circumstances (e.g. customer needs, changes in legislation, new technology becomes available). In a DevOps culture, a strong focus is put on continuous improvement to minimize waste, optimize for speed, costs, and ease of delivery, and to continuously improve the products/services offered. Experimentation is therefore an important activity to embed and develop a way of learning from failures is essential. A good rule to live by in that respect is if it hurts, do it more often .</p>
    <h2>Principle 6</h2>
    <h3>Automate Everything You Can</h3>
    <p>To adopt a continuous improvement culture with high cycle rates and to create an IT organization that receives instant feedback from end users or customers, many organizations have quite some waste to eliminate. Fortunately, in the past years, enormous gains in IT development and operations can be made in that respect. Think of automation of not only the software development process (continuous delivery, including continuous integration and continuous deployment) but also of the whole infrastructure landscape by building next-gen container-based cloud platforms that allow infrastructure to be versioned and treated as code as well. Automation is synonymous with the drive to renew the way in which the team delivers its services.</p>

    <p>Our previous tutorial in this series explained the meaning of Continuous Delivery.</p>
    <p>Continuous delivery is an automated deployment pipeline with automated and manual gates in between whereas Continuous Deployment is the continuous delivery pipeline with no manual gates in between.</p>

    <p>So, Continuous Deployment need not be a ?Release to Production?. But the code is deployed to the production and kept under mute using ?Feature Toggles? and when it is ready, the Feature toggle will be turned on.</p>
    <p>These feature toggles avoid any risk of failure of the feature functionality in the production by switching OFF the deployed feature in the production.</p>
    <p>This option also allows turning on the feature to a certain set of users or certain geography or a certain customer site or even for internal employees for initial evaluation and feedback.</p>

    <p>Just before the previous video, we learned about the continuous delivery approach and its benefits.</p>
    <p>In this block let us learn about continuous deployment and how is it different from continuous delivery. And we will also understand the meaning of continuous testing and the continuous testing pipeline in DevOps.</p>
    <p>Here, I wish to introduce another term of DevOps, that is, continuous Deployment, which should not be confused with continuous delivery because the short form of both is CD.</p>
    <p>As we already know, Continuous delivery or CD is the Process of delivering the software or software Updates to the production in smaller increments, ensuring that the software can be released any time to the production.</p>
    <p>It is an automated deployment pipeline with both automated and manual gates in between.</p>
    <p><strong>Now, let us come to Continuous Deployment.</strong></p>
    <p>Continuous deployment is also a continuous delivery pipeline but without any manual gates in between. I mean, no manual gates or no manual intervention, from the initial code commit till the code is into the production.</p>
    <p>This picture will explain you the continuous deployment pipeline.</p>
    <p>As you see in this diagram, it is same as a continuous delivery pipeline, there will be a build trigger followed by a code check-in, automated compilation, build, unit tests, deployment and other automates tests till the ?deployment to the production?.</p>
    <p>Here I won?t call this as ?Release to production? but deployment to production, which I?ll explain in a little while.</p>
    <p>So, there are no manual testing phases or manual approval gates or in other words no manual intervention at all.</p>
    <p>This happens mainly in a matured organization and in case of delivery or updates of matured products, where DevOps practices are established very well and hence just automated delivery pipeline is sufficient enough to take care of quality and no manual testing and quality gates are required.</p>
    <p>However Feature toggles are necessary for Continuous deployment though present in both the methods, i.,e continuous delivery and continuous deployment, and they are must for Continuous deployment pipeline.</p>
    <p>The feature toggles avoid any risk of failure of the feature functionality in the production by switching OFF the deployed feature in the production. So, this feature flag ensures that all the features that are deployed on to the production can be turned ON or OFF based on the requirement and hence need not be immediately released to the end users.</p>
    <p>As quoted earlier, continuous deployment need not be necessarily a release to customers but a ?deployment to production?. This option of continuous deployment is used in deploying certain time-bound features.</p>
    <p>To give an <strong>Example</strong> , a value-added service offer of a mobile operator to the customers, during Christmas, can be deployed via continuous deployment method to production any time, so that the feature or value-added service package is kept ready on the live and opened up during Christmas or at midnight of the new year etc., through a feature toggle.</p>
    <p>And this feature can be opened up in production during wee hours or sleeping hours and safely be turned on to the end users later during the day, after ensuring that it is working fine.</p>
    <p>Basically, it?s like deploying the code/feature to the production, but not running the code until it is the right time or the team makes a decision to release the code or feature.</p>
    <p>This option also allows turning on the feature to a certain set of users or certain geography or certain customer site or even for internal employees for initial evaluation and feedback.</p>
    <p>People also refer to the DevOps practice as CI-CD model, where CD refers to continuous delivery, continuous deployment. And this is all about continuous deployment.</p>

    <p>During daily operations and work in Azure DevOps, one of the many things I'm doing is building Docker images and doing related tasks. Since I run everything on Linux, and the Hosted Ubuntu linux agent is ridiculously fast, I'm using that for all my tasks in my pipelines.</p>
    <p>Unfortunately, if you want to use the Azure File Copy task, you're out of luck. It is not supported on Linux currently (but should be eventually). You might end up with this error:</p>
    <p>So that's that. Either I go back to a Windows agent for this/these specific tasks, or we figure out how to work around the problem.</p>
    <h2>Using Azure CLI to replace Azure File Copy on Linux agents</h2>
    <p>With the Azure CLI we can also copy files easily to blobs, containers, file shares and more. In Azure DevOps/VSTS, there's now an Azure CLI Build Task, that helps us execute any type of script we'd like for the CLI.</p>
    <p>In order to replicate what I used to do in the "Azure File Copy" task, I'll take a look at the Azure CLI's az storage file copy command.</p>
    <p>The build task also inherits the same service principal you're already using with your tasks, so you can just continue to use your build without additional configuration.</p>
    <h3>Copy files to Azure using "az storage blob upload-batch" from DevOps</h3>
    <p>I have two tasks in this specific release step.</p>
    <p style="clear: both"><ul>
    <li>Copy Files: Copies files from my build output/drop to the correct target folder on the build agent.</li>
    <li>Azure CLI: Copies the contents of the folder on my build agent to the Azure Storage Account blob.</li>

    <h3>Task - Copy Files</h3>
    <p>This copies all the .zip files in my given source folder, recursively, and puts them all in the folder I specify in "Target Folder".</p>
    <h3>Task - Azure CLI</h3>
    <p>Using this build task, we can simply enter whatever command we want, including any variables from the build environment. Here's what I'm doing:</p>
    <p>This command will take any file in the drop folder (as specified in the previous build task, as per above) and copy all files to the blob named "webportalbinaries" in the given storage account name.</p>
    <p>Easy peasy. Azure CLI to the rescue once again. When running the build/release, we can now see that the command has been executed successfully and it indicates success in the logs and the release step is green and awesome:</p>

    <p>If we use Azure Storage Explorer, we can now clearly see that the file was indeed successfully uploaded to my container. I'm happy, the flow works, and I can now continue to use Linux-only agents for all of my workloads.</p>

    <p>There we have it. With just a few changes to the previous setup where we used Azure File Copy tasks, we can now utilize the full power of the Azure CLI directly in our DevOps pipelines.</p>
    <p>I'm fully embracing the CLI and I use it daily - now I can reuse what I know in the build- and release-pipelines too, and know that it works very well.</p>

    <p>Azure Devops is what used to be called TFS, right? AFAIK, TFS out of the box is configured only for NTLM authentication over HTTP. JGit does not do NTLM, and we have no plans to add support for it. We're not going to invest time to support a broken protocol of which even Microsoft says new applications shouldn't use it. (They say so in their very own NTLM specification.)</p>
    <p>Possible solutions I know of are: <br /><ul>
    <br /></li>
    <li>Use SSH. Users will probably have to upload an SSH public key to the server first. (Once.) Don't know if the server needs special configuration to enable SSH access. <br /></li>
    <li>Use Kerberos (SPNEGO), either with HTTP(S) or SSH. Difficult to configure on server and client side. <br /></li>
    <li>Make sure your server is accessible only over HTTPS and enable basic authentication in the server. <br /></li>
    <li>Use a proxy like cntlm on the client side. Don't know if that works reliably. <br /></li>
    <br />Please see the TFS/Azure Devops manuals for how exactly to do any of these. Once the server (or the cntlm proxy) is configured, JGit can clone/fetch from it, or push to it.</p>
    <p>(Caveat: I have personally never had to work with TFS.)</p>

    <p></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" >I had this problem cross domains. <br />the EGIT works fine conneting to tfs- git when they are on the same domain, probably related to the AD authentication. <br />but when came via proxy from another domain it was always "not authorized" <br />I asked from the network guys to disable the proxy for a while (just for me) and in eclipse proxy settings in "manual" I set the proxy definitions directly to the tfs address and it works.</p>

    <p>I had the good fortune to be interviewed earlier in the year by Viktor Farcic. I?m excited to see the book finally released. You can pickup your own copy of Devops Paradox here.</p>
    <p>Our interview is pretty wide ranging, touching on aspects of database administration, cloud operations, automation and devops.</p>
    <h2>1. Defining Devops</h2>
    <p><b>Viktor Farcic</b>: Moving on to a more general subject, how would you define DevOps? I?ve gotten a different answer from every single person I?ve asked.</p>
    <p><b>Sean Hull</b>: I have a lot of opinions about it actually. I wrote an article on my blog a few years ago called The Four-Letter Word Dividing Dev and Ops, with the implication being that the four-letter word might be a swear word, akin to the development team swearing at the operations team, and the operations team swearing at the development team. But the four-letter word I was referring to was ?risk.? <br />To summarize my article, in my view the development and the operations teams of old were separate silos in business, and they had very different mandates. Developers are tasked with writing code to build a product and to answer the needs of the customers, while directly building change into and facilitating a more sophisticated product. So, their thinking from day to day is about change and answering the requirements of the products team. <br />On the other hand, the operations team?s mandate is stability. It?s, ?I don?t want these systems going down at 2:00 a.m.? So, over the long term, the operations teams are thinking about being as conservative as possible and having fewer moving parts, less code, and less new technologies. The simpler your stack is, the more reliable it is and the more robust and less likely it is to fail. I think the traditional reason why developers and operations teams were separated into silos was because of those two very different mandates. <br />They?re two different ways of prioritizing your work and your priorities when you think about the business and the technology. However, the downside was that those teams didn?t really communicate very well, and they were often at each other?s throats, pushing each other in opposite directions. But to answer your question, ?what is DevOps?? I think of DevOps as a cultural movement that has made efforts to allow those teams to communicate better, and that?s a really good thing.</p>
    <h2>2. How to adapt to change</h2>
    <p><b>Viktor Farcic:</b> I have the impression that the speed with which new things are coming is only increasing. How do you keep up with it, and how do companies you work with keep up with all that?</p>
    <p><b>Sean Hull:</b> I don?t think they do keep up. I?ve gone to a lot of companies where they?ve never used serverless. None of their engineers know serverless at all. Lambda, web tasks, and Google Cloud functions have been out for a while, but I think there are very few companies that are able to really take advantage of them. I wrote another article blog post called Is Amazon Web Services Too Complex for Small Dev Teams? where I sort of implied that it is. <br />I do find a lot of companies want the advantage of on-demand computing, but they really don?t have the in-house expertise yet to really take advantage of all the things that Amazon can do and offer. That?s exactly why people aren?t up to speed on the technology, as it?s just changing so quickly. I?m not sure what the answer is. For me personally, there?s definitely a lot of stuff that I don?t know. I know I?m stronger in Python than I am with Node.js. Some companies have Node.js, and you can write Lambda functions in Java, Node.js, Python, and Go. So, I think Amazon?s investment in new technology allows the platform to evolve faster than a lot of companies are able to really take advantage of it.</p>
    <h2>3. What does the future hold for Devops?</h2>
    <p><b>Viktor Farcic:</b> I?m going to ask you a question now that I hate being asked, so you?re allowed not to answer. Where do you see the future, let?s say a year from now?</p>

    <p>Today there are five standalone publicly traded DevOps companies, Fastly, New Relic, Pivotal, PagerDuty, and Splunk. These publicly traded DevOps companies have created $30.7B in market cap value. With two unicorn DevOps companies in the pipeline, Gitlab and HashiCorp, we believe this is just the beginning. Below we analyze the five companies? income statements to get a better understanding of how they compare.</p>
    <p style="clear: both"><img src="https://miro.medium.com/max/60/1*PExu6UGAmzcacDTfrGC2-A.png" /></p>
    <p>Splunk is the oldest and highest valued company with a $16.7B market cap. It is nearly three times as large as second ranked New Relic at $5.8B. Fastly, Pivotal, and PagerDuty IPO-ed over the past two years and are all under $5B.</p>
    <p>Recently IPO-ed PagerDuty is trading at the highest market cap/revenue multiple of 29.7x. Next is New Relic at 12.1x, then Fastly at 11.4x, Splunk at 8.7x, and finally Pivotal at 4.3x. The average market cap/revenue across the cohort is 13.2x.</p>
    <p>Of the three newly minted public companies, Pivotal has the largest revenue, but trades at the lowest multiple. One reason is that Fastly and PagerDuty?s revenue is software compared to Pivotal that has a revenue mix of 61% software and 39% services as of the last quarter. Pivotal has done a good job of transitioning to software since its IPO when the software/services mix was 51%/49%.</p>
    <p>Splunk is the largest business at $1.9B in trailing twelve months revenue. In addition to revenue, investors often assess the time it takes for the business to achieve $100M in revenue. Pivotal reached $100M the fastest in three years, but we believe this is an unfair comparison as it received help from Dell and VMware. Of the other four, Fastly achieved $100M the quickest at 6 years, then New Relic at 7, Splunk at 8, and PagerDuty at 10.</p>

    <p>As a SaaS business PagerDuty leads the pack with an 85% gross margin. In the middle is Pivotal. Its 19% services gross margin combined with its software solutions margin of 92% creates a blend of 65%. Fastly spends proportionally the largest amount on COGS since it offers CDN and edge hosting services. According to the BVP Nasdaq Emerging Cloud Index, the average gross margin for a public cloud software business is currently 73%.</p>

    <p>Regarding operating expenses, PagerDuty takes the top position, spending the most on R&D and G&A as a percentage of revenue. Splunk spends the most on S&M as a percentage of revenue, which is a little surprising given it is the oldest business in the group. According to the BVP Nasdaq Emerging Cloud Index, the average sales and marketing spend as a percentage of revenue for a public cloud software business is currently 42%.</p>

    <p>New Relic has the best operating margin at -7% while PagerDuty is the worst at -36%. The average across the group is -19%, which is below -13%, the average operating margin for a public cloud software business.</p>

    <p>This series is going to describe the process I went through to migrate my company's on-premises TFS setup to Azure DevOps in the cloud. The process did turn out to be much more time-consuming than I anticipated, so hopefully this can help future migrators!</p>

    <p>I'll start by describing my current on-premises setup, and what I expect my final migrated setup to look like.</p>
    <p>We transitioned from Visual SourceSafe to TFS 2008 about 10 years ago. Since the initial installation, we have been really good about updating to the latest version of TFS as it was released.</p>
    <p>So, our current version of on-premises TFS is running Azure DevOps Server 2019.0.0. <em>TFS was renamed to Azure DevOps Server this year, but it's still just TFS with a fancier name.</em></p>
    <p><strong>If you haven't kept your TFS version up to date, you are going to need to upgrade it to the latest version of on-premises TFS before starting this process.</strong></p>
    <p>We have a single TFS collection named DefaultCollection. When migrating to Azure DevOps, each collection gets migrated as a separate account, so having a single collection is the easiest path forward if you have a small team.</p>
    <p>Inside each Collection, you can have multiple Projects. Each Project can have its own Process template and Project settings. We have about 50 projects, but we actually only use one. When we migrated from SourceSafe to TFS 10 years ago, the migration tool converted each project (per application) into an individual TFS project.</p>
    <p>Over time, we consolidated the active projects into a single TFS project. So, only one of the 50 projects is under active development, the rest are legacy apps or abandoned apps that are never modified.</p>
    <p>For the move to Azure DevOps, I will be moving only the active TFS Project and leaving the old projects behind. If we need those projects in the future, I will move just their current code base into a new Azure DevOps GIT repository.</p>
    <h3>GIT vs TFVC</h3>
    <p>GIT did not exist in TFS when we started using it, so about 4 years ago (?) we migrated all of our active code-bases in the active project to use GIT repos instead of TFVC. We did this inside the current project, so that we could maintain our existing Work Items. That means we currently have a Project containing a TFVC repository and multiple GIT repositories.</p>
    <p>For the move to Azure DevOps, I am going to only migrate the GIT repositories, so I will need to remove the TFVC repository before completing the import.</p>
    <p>We already have an account in Azure. We don't host our entire application infrastructure in Azure, but we do host some services there, so we have active subscriptions.</p>
    <p>We have made some changes to the TFS Process. Mostly, we've added fields to work items, modified the work item UI, and we've added a few extra work item types.</p>
    <p>I believe it will all import smoothly, as we have not made any extreme changes to the Process.</p>
    <h3>Build Servers</h3>
    <p>We host two TFS build servers locally. For a few of our applications, we have third-party dependencies that need to be installed on the build server, but the majority of our applications could be built from a non-custom build server.</p>
    <p>For now, I plan to use our existing local build servers for all builds, but long-term we should be able to migrate many of our apps to be built in the Azure DevOps service.</p>

    <p>DevOps is een term die draait om de fundamentele en operationele aspecten van het produceren van software, zoals bijvoorbeeld continuous depolyment, software containers, environment setup, automated testing en continuous integration.</p>
    <p>DevOps engineers zijn eigenlijk vooral operationele ontwikkelaars. Ze moeten met een grote verscheidenheid aan (open source) technologies kunnen werken, code en script kunnen schrijven, ervaring hebben met systeem en IT beheer, automation tools goed begrijpen en daarnaast nog over vele andere vaardigheden beschikken.</p>
    <p>Agile gaat om de 12 principes van het Agile Manifesto voor het produceren van software. Ook de beste ontwikkelaars gebruiken deze principes in hun dagelijkse werk.</p>
    <p>Agile Developers doen precies wat de naam al doet vermoeden. Agile. Agile Developers zijn normaal gesproken erg samenwerkend onderling met alle leden, werken ook nauw samen met de klant, zijn zeer flexibel wat betreft veranderingen die vanuit de klant worden ge?nitieerd en implementeren projecten vroeg om wijzigingen mogelijk te maken.</p>
    <h2>DevOps vervolg op Agile?</h2>
    <p>Is DevOps het vervolg op Agile? Ondanks dat DevOps wezenlijk verschilt van Agile, zou je dit toch zo kunnen stellen. DevOps maakt namelijk af waar Agile om begonnen is: technologische en procesmatige integratie tussen ontwikkeling en beheer. Waar de focus van Agile vooral ligt op de klant en IT-vernieuwing, zorgt DevOps voor de samenwerking tussen ontwikkeling en beheer. Dat is dan ook waar de naam aan ontleend is: Dev staat voor Development en Ops voor Operations. DevOps kent twee kernprincipes: Continuous Integration en Continuous Delivery.
